Ukrainian Soldiers Awarded Hero of Ukraine Title to Receive State Apartments

In a recent announcement on December 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that all Ukrainian soldiers honored with the Hero of Ukraine title since the commencement of Russia's full-scale invasion, along with the families of posthumously awarded recipients, will be provided with state apartments.

During a ceremony, Zelensky personally presented certificates for housing to the first 12 service members and nine families of fallen defenders. Emphasizing the significance of the state's role, Zelensky stated, "I am convinced that the state policy in this matter is not only about adequate provision but, above all, about dignified treatment. Not only about material values but, first of all, about human ones."

Since the onset of Russia's all-out war against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, a total of 360 Ukrainians have been honored with the Hero of Ukraine title, including 210 posthumously, as reported by the Presidential Office.

Zelensky expressed the commitment of the state to care for each awardee and their families, emphasizing that this support is the least they can do for those who heroically defended and continue to defend their homeland. The Hero of Ukraine is the highest national award in Ukraine, bestowed upon citizens for notable heroic deeds.
